Barolo Chinato DOCG is created combining Barolo DOCG with infusions of chincona bark Quasso wood, gentian root, cardamom seeds and other natural flavourings. It was born in the late 19th century in a pharmacy located in the Langa region and first produced by the pharmacists who worked in different towns of the Barolo area. It soon became a mythical elixir with extraordinary properties.

  • Aroma: Garnet red with brick red hues and with a long-lasting complex aroma, with hints of spices and herbs, among which cinchona, rhubarb and cinnamon stand out.
  • Tasting: The taste is full, velvety and wrapping. The pleasant bitter aftertaste is reminiscent of the olfactory sensations.
  • Pairing: Ideal as an aperitif or digestif. Try it with bitter chocolate, desserts and pastries made with chocolate, ice cream, Piedmont hazelnut cake ...or serve warm as a panacea.
